How Our Students Built a Real Website in 12 Sessions

When Kwame enrolled in CodeBridge Africa's Adults Web Development Masterclass, he had never written a single line of code. He worked full-time, had a family, and was not sure a 34-year-old could really "break into tech." Six weeks and twelve sessions later, he launched his own business website — and started taking on freelance clients.

Kwame's story is not unusual. It is exactly what our programme is designed to produce. Here is how the twelve-session journey actually unfolds.

Sessions 1–3: The Foundations

We start with HTML — the skeleton of every website. Students learn structure, headings, links, images and forms. By the end of week one, everyone has built and previewed their first real web page. Nothing abstract, nothing theoretical — just building.

Sessions 4–6: Making It Beautiful

Next comes CSS, the language of design. This is where raw pages turn into polished, professional layouts. Students learn colours, spacing, responsive design for mobile phones, and how to make a site feel modern and trustworthy.

Sessions 7–9: Bringing It to Life

With JavaScript, websites start to respond. Buttons do things. Forms validate. Simple animations delight. Students build interactive features and, importantly, learn how to read errors and solve problems on their own — the single most valuable skill a developer has.

Sessions 10–12: Going Live

Finally, students deploy. Using modern, free tools, they put their websites live on the real internet, with a real link they can send to anyone. There is a particular kind of pride in typing your own web address into a browser for the first time.

Of our last cohort of 20 students: 18 deployed a live website, 8 began freelancing within two months, and 3 were hired into junior developer roles.

Your Turn

You do not need a computer science degree or a tech background — you need six focused weeks and a willingness to build. Our Adults Web Dev Masterclass runs regularly at GHS 450, with personal mentorship the whole way through.

See the full breakdown on the Adults Web Dev Masterclass page, reserve your spot now, or message us on WhatsApp to ask anything.
